Letting Go: An Art Experience for Recovering Perfectionists
What happens when you stop trying to control the outcome?
Join art therapist Kimmie Hale for an interactive and surprisingly powerful creative experience designed to help us loosen our grip on perfection, expectations, and the need to have everything figured out.
Many of us have spent our lives being rewarded for being responsible, productive, and in control. But creativity asks something different of us. It asks us to trust the process, embrace uncertainty, and allow things to unfold in ways we didn’t plan.
During this hands-on workshop, participants will take part in a collaborative Round Robin Drawing exercise. Each person will begin a piece of artwork before passing it to another participant, who will add their own ideas, perspective, and creativity. The artwork will continue to move around the room until everyone has contributed to every piece.
The result? A collection of unexpected creations—and perhaps a few insights about ourselves.
Together, we’ll explore what it feels like to release control, quiet our inner critic, and embrace imperfection in a supportive and judgment-free environment.
No artistic experience is required. In fact, this workshop isn’t about creating a masterpiece. It’s about curiosity, connection, and discovering what becomes possible when we stop trying to do everything ourselves.
Come prepared to create, collaborate, and maybe even surprise yourself.
